General Comments
International SOS (ISOS) Clinics in China
We would like to have direct billing with International SOS but they don't have direct billing with any insurance company. Their business strategy seems to be to recruit employee groups and individuals as members, and charge a monthly fee for outpatient services only as they only have outpatient clinics. Unfortunately, this means you have to claim and get reimbursed rather than have cashless service. In some places they are the only clinic in town. The ISOS monthly membership fee is much greater than insurance premiums covering both inpatient and outpatient services worldwide, rather than outpatient services only at ISOS clinics, so why would you buy a membership??

Global Doctor Clinics
We would also like to have direct billing with Global Doctor, especially since it is the only Western clinic in many places. The Chinese owner of this clinic chain bought us lunch in Chengdu and told us there would not be a problem, but after that he wouldn't respond to our follow up. We thought this very strange! We have since met him at conferences in Cyprus and Venice in 2007 and we still don't have direct billing. If you can tell us what we've done to offend, then we'll both know!
